Smoked tofu with rice, broccoli, and cucumber
A light and healthy vegetarian recipe. The teriyaki bbq sauce with honey adds umami depth to the smoked tofu.
Preparation
Step 1
4 small cucumbers – 2 tbsp Kikkoman Toasted Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp rice vinegar – 1 tbsp Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp sesame seeds – 1 tbsp chopped chilli
Toast the sesame seeds on a dry pan. Cut the cucumbers into pieces with a thickness of 1 cm. Mix them with sesame, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and chilli. Set it aside in the refrigerator.
Step 2
100 g basmati rice – 100 g broccoli
Cook the rice according to the package. Divide the broccoli into smaller florets and steam them for 5 minutes.
Step 3
180 g smoked tofu – 1 tbsp olive oil – 3 tbsp Kikkoman Teriyaki BBQ-Sauce with Honey
Cut the tofu into 4 pieces. Fry them until golden brown on olive oil, then pour in the Teriyaki sauce and continue frying for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 4
½ bunch of chives – 1 pinch of black pepper
Serve the tofu on rice along with the broccoli and cucumbers. Garnish the whole dish with chives and black pepper.
