Pan-seared duck breast in a delightful soy-orange sauce, where the sweet orange meets the salty umami of soy. A dish that is both simple and elegant – perfect for a cozy dinner. Serve with your favourite side dishes and a sprinkle of fresh coriander for extra flavour and colour.

Ingredients

Duck breast:

Sauce:

Juice and zest from 3 oranges
1 tbsp
honey
1 cm
fresh ginger, grated
2 
garlic cloves
1 
fresh red chili, halved
1 tsp
rice vinegar
1 
star anise
2 tbsp
water
Coriander

Preparation

Step 1

Juice and zest from 3 oranges – 4 tbsp Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce1 tbsp honey – 1 cm fresh ginger, grated – 2  garlic cloves – 1  fresh red chili, halved – 1 tsp rice vinegar – 1  star anise – 2 tbsp water

Place all the ingredients for the sauce in a pot and let it reduce until you have about 100 ml. This will take about the same amount of time as it takes to cook the duck.

Step 2

4  duck breasts – Kikkoman Toasted Sesame Oil

Meanwhile, sear the duck breasts in a very hot pan with sesame oil.

Step 3

Coriander

Strain the sauce and serve with your choice of side dishes and a fresh sprinkle of coriander.
