There are no fixed rules about how to make a dressing, so you can be as creative as you like when you make them. Some people prefer the classic oil and vinegar base, others a yoghurt base. A dressing can be thick or thin in consistency, and spicy or fruity in flavour. Anything goes!
We’ve compiled some salad dressing and vinaigrette recipes that use Kikkoman sauces for an umami flavour kick. Both our soy sauces and our speciality sauces are ideal as salad dressing ingredients.

Our tips:
- If you like to keep it simple, try our ready-to-use Sesame Dressing. Flavoured with roasted and ground sesame seeds, this creamy sauce adds a unique Japanese twist to any kind of salad!
- You can combine your salad ingredients with strips of steak, chicken or prawns, berries and other fruits, or top them with caramelised walnuts or pine nuts. Whatever recipe you’re using, the sauces in the Kikkoman range all help to make a mouth-wateringly good dressing!
