Kikkoman soy sauce: guaranteed GMO free!

We place great importance on the quality and origin of our raw ingredients – and our natural production processes. In fact, it's the first-class ingredients that give all Kikkoman soy sauces their characteristically versatile flavour. We don't use any artificial additives in our sauces and only use soy beans that are non-GMO. Thus you can be assured that every Kikkoman soy sauce is a completely natural condiment: GMO free, safe and delicious. 

What does GMO free actually mean?

The acronym ‘GMO’ stands for the use of genetically modified organisms. Kikkoman only uses soy beans that are ‘GMO free’ or ‘free from genetic engineering’. A clear mark of quality.

How do I know when GMOs are used in food?

All food, ingredients and additives produced directly from GM crops must be labelled within the EU. You’ll know food contains GMOs if the list of ingredients or the label include the phrases ‘genetically modified’ or ‘made from genetically modified...’. This doesn’t apply to animal products such as meat, milk and eggs, though. The good news: Our soy sauces are guaranteed GMO free.
