Turnip and chanterelle gratin

Ingredients for 4 portions

Per portion: 2153 kJ / 514 kcal

  • 2 turnips (each approx. 300 g)
  • 600 g potatoes
  • 100 g chanterelles
  • 2 onions
  • 300 ml milk
  • 400 g minced meat
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • freshly ground pepper
  • ground nutmeg
  • 8-10 tbsp. Kikkoman naturally brewed soy sauce
  • 80 g strong flavoured, grated cheese


Preparation time: 1h

Peel the turnip and potatoes, wash them, slice the potatoes and cut the turnip into sticks. Wash the chanterelles, then peel the onions and cut them into rings.

Boil the turnip and potatoes in milk before reducing the heat to simmer for approx. 15 minutes with the lid on. Sauté the minced meat in hot oil. Add the chanterelles and onions and sauté them. Combine them with the turnip, potatoes and milk and season with pepper, nutmeg and soy sauce.

Place the mixture in a gratin dish, sprinkle cheese on the top and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 °C (gas mark 3, convection oven 160 ℃) for approx. 30-35 minutes.
