Marinated Fried Char with Chili Thai Asparagus

Ingredients for 4 portions

Per portion: 1321 kJ / 315 kcal

  • 4 char fillets
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 8-9 tbsp. Kikkoman Stir-fry sauce
  • 4cl white rum (or sour apple juice)
  • 3 tbsp. lime juice and a little lime zest
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm, diced)
  • 500g Thai asparagus (or regular green asparagus) (trimmed)
  • chili strands


Preparation time: 20 mins

Wash the char fillets and pat them dry. Combine 2 tbsp. oil, 6 tbsp. Kikkoman Stir-fry sauce, rum (or apple juice), lime juice and zest and ginger. Brush the char fillets with the marinade and leave to marinate briefly.

Fry the fillets on both sides for approx. 5 minutes in a coated (tilting) frying pan. Remove the fish from the pan. Sauté the asparagus in the remaining oil, season with the remaining Kikkoman sukiyaki stir-fry sauce and chili threads and serve with the char fillets. Fragrant basmati rice is a good side dish for this meal.
